Anaesthetic can be used not only to make the client more comfortable during their procedure but also to achieve more accurate results, as without anaesthetising the area, the client may try to contract their muscles resulting in pigment being implanted in the wrong area. A topical anaesthetic should generally be applied both before and during treatment for maximum efficacy, depending on whether it is suitable for broken or unbroken skin. It is also important to let the client know that they may still feel discomfort, although it will be greatly reduced.

What areas of the face and body can be treated?

In a nutshell and how everything works

1. Skin Rejuvenation:

The newly produced collagen and elastin help to tighten, lift, and smooth the skin, leading to a more youthful appearance.

2. Plasma Generation:

The plasma converts electrical energy into gaseous diatomic molecular nitrogen, creating a small electrical arc or plasma arc

3. Micro-Trauma:

When this arc touches the skin's surface, it creates controlled, superficial micro-trauma, causing the skin tissue to contract.

4. Collagen Stimulation:

This micro-trauma triggers the body's natural healing process, resulting in increased collagen and elastin production.

Is The Plasma Treatment For Me?

You’ll need to undertake a full consultation but, generally, plasma treatment is suitable for both men and women. People who have melanin rich skin (darker skin tones) will NOT be able to have this treatment done unfortunately. As with all treatments, it’s important to understand what skin resurfacing entails, I will explain everything and answer all of your questions. If you’re searching for a rapid procedure with long-lasting results, this could be the solution for you.

AFTERCARE

The following information is given to you to ensure optimum treatment outcome:

• no Makeup • no scented lotion • no saunas • no sun beds • no sun exposure • no botox • no collagen injections • no dermal fillers • no swimming or hot tubs • do not use anti-aging creams • do not use AHA’s, glycolic or retinol • do not use exfoliating products • a minimum of SPF50 must be applied • exposure to the sun should be avoided • hyaluronic acid should be applied often • wash hands thoroughly before touching

CLIENT POST-CARE INSTRUCTIONS

Most people will experience a mild sun burn like sensation immediately following any Fibroblast procedure which should resolve within a few hours. However, this depends on tolerance, and discomfort may last longer. If you feel particularly uncomfortable, you can take anti-inflammatories such as ibuprofen and antihistamines.

As a natural healing response, it is usual for the treated area to become swollen, especially around the more delicate areas such as the eyes. Ice packs not only soothes but also helps the swelling. Recovery can vary depending on each client's natural rate of recovery. Most people find it only lasts a few days. In extreme cases (specifically if clients do not follow aftercare guidelines), the swelling can last several days longer and may interfere with vision if Fibroblast treatment was performed in the eye area. Initially after treatment and up to three days later, there may be occasional weeping. This is the natural healing response to the procedure.

As the treated area begins to heal, you will notice dryness, where a brown/black crust develops on the surface of the skin.

This will flake off after a few days but in some cases can take up to 10 days. Make sure you DO NOT PICK the crusting as it can lead to infection or scarring.

It is important to keep this area clean.

It is strongly advised that you use an SPF 30-50 sunscreen to avoid sunburn as the area’s sensitivity to sunlight will be heightened for up to 3-4 months post Fibroblast procedure.

Boiled lukewarm water is best for cleaning the treated area(s).

DO NOT use alcohol-based cleansers as this will slow down the healing process.

If at any time the treated area(s) become too hot, red or shows sign of pus, inform your doctor for advice as they may be developing an infection. For optimum results, more than one Fibroblast treatment is usually needed and can be performed typically 8-12 weeks onwards after the initial procedure.

Twice daily in the morning and in the evening, carefully clean the areas. After, apply provided ointment twice daily.

After the independent peeling of the scab crusts (typically the 5-8 days), pink/red skin forms, this is NEW skin and is still very delicate. It usually takes 4-6 weeks (sometimes longer) until the skin has reached its normal colour again.

Swimming and sauna activities are only permitted two weeks post treatment and once all the crusts have fallen off the skin surface and the wounds are completely healed and closed.

Smokers may experience a significant worsening of the blood flow, which increases the risk of wound healing and/or slowed healing.

Follow up treatment will not be before 8-12 weeks from the first treatment date. With that being said, it depends on the individual and the area being treated.
