If you have a mole you're concerned about, or simply want reassurance, Map My Mole provides a convenient mole screening service from FORMED By Francesca.

During your appointment, I screen and photograph your mole(s) using the Map My Mole system. Your images and relevant information are then securely submitted for review by a dermatologist. Your results are typically returned within 48 hours. This means you're not left wondering for weeks about what your screening has found.

 

How does map my mole work?

1. YOUR MOLE IS SCREENED

During your appointment, I'll take detailed images of the mole or moles you're concerned about and complete the relevant information required for the screening.

2. A DERMATOLOGIST REVIEWS IT

Your images and information are submitted through the Map My Mole service and reviewed by a qualified dermatologist.

I do not diagnose your mole myself.

3. YOUR RESULTS ARE RETURNED

Your dermatologist's report is typically returned within 48 hours.

Your results will then be provided to you, along with any recommendations about whether further medical assessment may be appropriate.

 

What happens if my mole needs further investigation?

If the dermatologist recommends further investigation, you will be advised to seek appropriate medical assessment, such as through your GP or a dermatologist.

Please remember that Map My Mole is a screening service and does not replace an in-person medical examination or medical diagnosis.

If you have a mole that is changing, bleeding, itching, painful, developing an irregular appearance or causing you concern, you should seek appropriate medical advice.

If your screening result indicates that your mole does not require further medical investigation and it is considered appropriate for cosmetic removal, we can then discuss your options.

CRYOPEN SKIN LESION REMOVAL

Suitable benign skin lesions

CryoPen is a form of cryotherapy that uses a precise application of nitrous oxide to freeze and treat selected superficial skin lesions.

The treatment is highly targeted and may be suitable for certain benign skin lesions and cosmetic imperfections, depending on their type, size, depth, location and your individual suitability.

 

CryoPen is suitable for:

• Skin tags

• Seborrhoeic keratoses

• Solar lentigines

• Certain pigmentation

• Milia

• Cherry angiomas

• Certain warts and verrucae

• Sebaceous hyperplasia

• Other suitable benign lesions

Not every lesion is suitable for CryoPen. Your lesion will be assessed before treatment and I will only proceed where I believe it is appropriate.

 

What happens during CryoPen treatment?

CryoPen treatment is generally very quick.

The device delivers a controlled application of nitrous oxide directly to the treatment area. The length of the application depends on the size, depth and type of lesion being treated.

The actual freezing application can take just a few seconds, although the overall appointment time will depend on the number and type of areas being treated.

Does CryoPen Hurt?

Most clients describe the sensation as a brief stinging, prickling or cold sensation during treatment. The sensation is generally short-lived, although the area may feel slightly tender or sensitive for a short time afterwards. CryoPen treatment does not usually require local anaesthetic.

 

What happens after CryoPen?

The treated area will go through a natural healing process.

You may experience:

• Redness

• Sensitivity

• Mild swelling

• Darkening of the treated area

• Dryness or crusting

• Occasionally, blistering

These effects vary depending on the lesion, treatment area and your individual skin response.

Do not pick, scratch or remove any crusting or healing skin.

The area will gradually heal and its appearance will change over the following weeks.

 

How long does it take to heal?

Healing varies depending on the type, size and location of the lesion, as well as your individual skin. Many treated areas improve over several weeks, but some lesions may take longer to fully resolve. Your expected healing process will be discussed with you before treatment.

 

How many treatments will i need?

There isn't a set number of treatments for every lesion.

Some suitable lesions may require one treatment, while others may need additional sessions depending on their size, depth and response.

Certain areas, particularly delicate areas such as around the eyes, may require a more conservative approach.

Your treatment plan will be discussed with you following assessment.

Who is CryoPen suitable for?

CryoPen is suitable for many clients, but it isn't appropriate for everyone.

A full consultation and medical history will be completed before treatment.

Your suitability may be affected by factors including:

• Certain medical conditions

• Medication

• Healing difficulties

• Skin type

• The location and type of lesion

• Pregnancy or breastfeeding

• Previous treatments to the area

If you have darker skin, there can be an increased risk of temporary or permanent changes in pigmentation, including lighter or darker areas following treatment. Your individual suitability and potential risks will be discussed during your consultation.

 

Which lesions cannot be treated?

CryoPen is not a treatment for suspected skin cancer.

Suspicious, changing or undiagnosed lesions should be assessed by an appropriate medical professional before any cosmetic removal is considered. This includes lesions that may be suspicious for conditions such as melanoma or basal cell carcinoma.

If I have any concerns about a lesion during your consultation, I will not proceed with cosmetic removal and will advise you to seek appropriate medical assessment.
